Research Associate - Ojai, California

Summary of Position:

The Research Associate supports the research team in providing literature reviews, retrieving and compiling data, producing test statistics, interpreting findings, and creating both technical summary and presentation materials describing the results for our customers. This position will undertake day-to-day ownership of project records, client results data and the mechanisms for collecting, storing, compiling and reporting of the data. The Research Associate will operate an analytical service BST delivers to clients. The position also provides some related ad-hoc technical support to our delivery and sales functions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce recurring and ad-hoc reports that include professional and customer-friendly charts, tables and written summaries that communicate the results of the analysis for audiences ranging from senior leaders to business laypeople.
  • Contact clients to collect typical business performance metrics and other needed for research and customer reports.
  • Collate and extract data from databases for research studies.
  • Conduct basic quantitative and qualitative analyses following a plan defined by the team.
  • Maintain research databases, to include record creation, database modifications and improvements, and data hygiene.
  • Develop tools and procedures as needed to deliver results that are tailored to an individual customer's needs.
  • Maintain and build normative databases for client surveys.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of database, table structures and queries.
  • Demonstrates a capacity to learn how to use databases and analysis tools such as MS Access and MS Excel to manage data. Experience with MS Access, MS Excel, and SQL highly desirable. Familiarity with statistical software packages such as SPSS a plus.
  • Adept in managing time and prioritizing activities to adhere to competing project timelines and due dates.
  • Possess strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills in accomplishing tasks and communicating.
  • Mathematical reasoning aptitude required. Basic statistical analysis skills, including measures of central tendency, inferential statistics such as probability and error desirable.
  • Two years of related professional experience.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
