The 2008 BST First Annual Safety Leadership Conference, APRIL 9 & 10, 2008 NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE
An event for senior leaders who strive for safety excellence
Welcome

Over the past several years, our work helping organizations to achieve outstanding safety performance has included very specific resources for senior leaders. We have found, not surprisingly, that senior leadership involvement increases buy in, sustainability, organizational alignment, and consistently produces significant results. With this research and experience, we are pleased to announce an annual event designed specifically for senior leaders — The BST Safety Leadership Conference.

Taking place prior to the 21st annual BST Users Conference, the largest behavior-based safety event in the world, The BST Safety Leadership Conference is a unique two-day offering that focuses on issues critical for leveraging the knowledge and influence senior leaders need to reach their organization’s safety goals. Presented by BST’s senior leaders and top presenters, concurrent tracks are offered for attendees with different objectives and safety experience.

In addition to the BST-led sessions, we are pleased to offer Spotlight on Safety Success workshops — forums to hear from leaders themselves on what is making a difference in their organizations. Current presenters include:

  • Dominique Calabrese, SVP Health & Safety • Lafarge,
  • Don Carter, Vice President, Human Resources • Columbia Forest Products,
  • Peter Lijewski, VP, Supply and East Coast Operations • Centerra Wines (a division of Constellation), and
  • Thomas Shaw, former Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer • Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI).

I encourage you to make your plans to be a part of this once-a-year event. To ensure content relevance, attendance is limited to organizational leaders. In January 2008 you will be sent a Registration Guide that describes all of the offerings in detail, the Conference schedule, registration information, and website resources. As you will see, I am personally hosting a roundtable discussion and look forward to meeting you.

I hope you can join us.

Tom Krause, Chairman of the Board
